CYCLISTS can get free security bike marking and safety advice at multiple events.
Maldon District Council are working with Essex Police and other community organisations to run two community safety and bike marking events.
The bike marking element of the event has been funded by Maldon District Community Safety Partnership (CSP) to help prevent bike theft in the area.
More than 970,000 bicycles have been registered in the bike marking scheme used by police across the UK.
The scheme helps the police and retailers to identify and verify the owners of bikes than have been stolen or are being resold.
The first event is tomorrow at Victory Recreation Ground in Tollesbury from 10am until 3pm.
The second event is at Riverside Park in Burnham on Crouch on Wednesday, August 31 from 10am until 3pm.
