A FLOWER arrangement society has celebrated its 60-year history of creating flower displays.
The Dengie Hundred Flower Arrangement Society (DHFAS) celebrated its diamond anniversary at Bradwell Village Hall.
National flower demonstrator Alan Smith attended the party and held a demonstration for everyone there.
The society has raised about £25,000 for multiple charities and was awarded a Silver-Gilt at the 1985 Chelsea Flower Show and a Silver in the 1996 show.
Villagers across the Dengie formed the society in 1961 and although the founding members are no longer present, many of the ladies who joined in the early 1970s still attend meetings.
Members gather throughout the year to learn about flower arranging, watch demonstrations and socialise.
The members attend flower shows and make arrangements for many occasions happening in the Dengie.

Suzanne Ferris, the club’s chairperson said: “We are so proud to have reached this milestone. The club is an important part of the local community.
“Whilst we acknowledge that the club has of course changed over the years, it still offers great companionship and is a wonderful way to connect with likeminded people.
“We hope it is in operation for at least another 60 years.”
