A SCHOOL principal says she is "absolutely delighted" after students recorded their GCSE results. 

Students at Ormiston Rivers Academy were celebrating as many have earned more than half a grade or more above target.

Staff and students marked the occasion at the school in Burnham, after their hard work over the past couple of years.

Teenagers were relieved after many secured places at their chosen college or next role. 

The school has congratulated the following students for their exceptional grades.

• Aidan, who achieved Grade 9 in English Literature, Maths, Biology and Chemistry, Grade 8 in Physics, Grade 7 in History and French, Grade 6 in English Language and double Merit award in Food.

• Amelia, who achieved grade 9 in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Grade 8 in English Language and English Literature, Grade 7 in History and French and double distinction in Food.

• Milly, who achieved Grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, History and Religious Studies, Grade 7 in Maths, French and Double Science and Distinction in Performing Arts.

• Ellen, who achieved Grade 9 in Geography, Maths, Biology and Chemistry, Grade 8 in English Language, History and Physics, Grade 7 in English Literature and Distinction in Music Performance.

• William, who achieved Grade 9 in Physics, Grade 8 in Biology, Chemistry, French and Maths, Grade 7 in History and English Language, Grade 6 in English Literature and double Distinction award in Engineering.

• Millie, who achieved Grade 9 in English Language and History, Grade 8 in English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Grade 7 in French and Distinction in Performing Arts.
