A PUB will be seeing in the new oyster season with a celebratory seafood festival to treat customers' tastebuds.
The Queen Victoria, in Spital Road, Maldon, has announced the festival with a range of suppliers serving up fresh seafood.
These include Blackwater Oysters, Mersea Oysters, Maldon Oysters, Lambton and Jackson, Colchester Fish and C and M Fisheries.
The event marks the start of the new oyster season and the team at The Queen Victoria want to make sure no one misses out.
Seafood enthusiasts can select as many dishes as they like from the menu which will be prepared by their chefs.
On the Friday and Saturday dates they will be offering an a la carte menu with freshly caught fish from Mersea and UK waters with skate, Dover sole and plaice on offer.
There will be salmon from the award-winning Lambton and Jackson along with cod and haddock and other catches from UK waters.
James Burrell-Cook, the owner of The Queen Victoria, said: “We try and source the produce locally, and championing local fish and oysters helps with sustainability too.
“We decided to host the event since Maldon isn’t having its seafood festival at the prom.
“The new season is something to be championed, it’s important for the local suppliers to be noticed.
“We try and support local business all year round and we have changes throughout the season from Mersea waters and Colchester fish.
“A lot of other pubs will be championing seafood in their areas for the start of the local oyster season.
