A PLANNING appeal has been launched after a council refused plans to build a home.
A planning application for a one-bedroom property on Lower Burnham Road, Latchingdon was turned down by Maldon District Council.
The bid was made following the approval to convert an agricultural building on the same site into a dwelling.
One of the reasons for the refusal of this application was the location is considered disconnected from services and facilities.

In the planning a decision, Maldon District Council said: “The location would provide poor quality and limited access to public transportation, resulting in an increased need of private vehicle ownership. The development would therefore be unsustainable”
The second reason for the refusal was due to the scale of the property in the plans.
There were worries the development would have a “harmful impact on the rural character of the area.”
The report added: “The harm is exacerbated by the visual prominence of the plot and scale of the proposed dwelling.”
