THIS year, we join up with the women from Guyana in St Luke's Church extension on Friday March 7 at 2.15pm.
Join us to hear the Rev Oswald Trellis along with women from all the Tiptree churches taking part.
Tea and biscuits will be available after the service. All are very welcome to attend.
GARDEN CENTRE OUTING
MEMBERS of the Autumn Leaves Club met in the Village Hall on Wednesday February 20. The chairman opened the meeting with a request for silence for Dot, who had recently passed away.
Dot had been a much-valued member of the club, organising the raffles. For the past few years, however, she was no longer able to live alone and so had been living with her daughter.
After the minute's silence, we wished Joanne a happy birthday and a get well card was signed by everyone present to be sent to Irene Brown, who is undergoing surgery in the London Hospital.
After the raffle was drawn, all members proceeded in a convoy of various cars to Perrywoods Nursery, where we enjoyed a cream tea, and then members were able to view the many flowers and plants at the nursery.
At our next meeting, the competition will be for "a pretty fan".
AID 2 AFRICA APPEAL
THIS is a special appeal from the organisers of Aid 2 Africa.
Recently, a "very wobbly"
child's electric organ was donated and despatched to an orphanage in Lesotho the charity supports.
The children were so pleased with this that hey have now formed their own choir.
However, a proper keyboard that would be easy to transport is now required for the children. A kind donation of a keyboard would be most gratefully received. If you can assist, please telephone John Scott on 817796.
The donation of other items - including clothing, shoes, bedding and soft toys would, of course, also be welcome. You can leave general donations either at 13 Barnhall Road at any time, or take them to the Village Hall on Wednesday evenings between 7pm and 8pm.
Items are always wanted, with large containers packed by volunteers four or five times a year and despatched to Africa.
BINGO
COME along to the Village Hall every Wednesday evening at 8pm and enjoy a game of bingo, with plenty of cash prizes and a flyer game and bottle of wine prize on offer. Books cost £2 each and the flyer game is £1 extra. At halftime, refreshments are made available and a raffle held.
All funds raised go towards the Village Hall. New faces are always very welcome.
JAZZERCISE
FOR cardio, stretching and strength building, go along to Jazzercise classes being held in the Village Hall on Thursday evenings between 6.15pm and 7.15pm. For more deatils, please phone Caroline on 07810 203021.
