Back by popular demand, we are now taking orders for summer plants and the order forms are available from Moir Gunfield on 744084 (41 Lawlinge Road) or Nonnie Bridge on 741771 (5 Lawlinge Road) or at the back of the church. They offer a 12ins wicker effect, ready filled hanging basket for only £9.00 each plus refill packs, sunflowers and a good selection of summer bedding and trailing plants. Christ Church earns 30 per cent of the value of you order which is for general funds. We thank you for your support in advance.
TEA DANCE
Unfortunately the Tea Dance was cancelled for Monday April 7, due to lack of support.
PARISH COUNCIL NEWS
ZEBRA CROSSING OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL: the work has been completed and a thank you sent to Essex County Council and their contractors for a job well done.
BUS SHELTERS: A grant for £1,000 has been secured from Essex County Council to refurbish the bus shelter in The Street opposite the new bus shelter and a grant to refurbish the bus shelter in Burnham Road, outside the hall has been applied for.
YOUTH SHELTER AND COMBI GOAL ON KING GEORGE V PLAYING FIELD: The parish council in association with Da Latchingdon Club will be holding an opening of the New Youth Shelter and Combi-goal on Friday April 11 from noon.
There will be music from local young bands, barbecue, graffiti artists and also a dedication to Adam Gosling who tragically died last year whilst on work experience.
PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS: parish council meetings take place on last Monday of the month at 8pm (except August and December when there is no meeting held). The annual parish assembly will be held on May 12. This is the meeting for you to bring forward your thoughts and ideas for the village.

DOG FOULING: This is still a big problem and we ask everyone to remember to take a bag with you when you walk your dogs to clear up after them.
MALDON DISTRICT COMMUNITY SAFETY PARTNERSHIP - NEIGHBOURHOOD ACTION PANEL: Maldon District Council - working to encourage and maintain a district which takes pride in itself. You will find in the post office, local shops and at the church some forms produced by the Neighbourhood Action Panel for you to fill in and send back to let either Sgt Miller or Julia Mckenzie or Clare Lawrence know about any concerns you have. Please take the time to fill in as it could be that by you taking this action you could help yourself and other people too in your neighbourhood.
