MUNDON WI

IAN Unwin gave us a very informative and useful talk, not only about hanging baskets but all sorts of tips on how to choose plants and how to look after them.

He planted two hanging baskets, one with moss and one with a lining and then donated them to the evening's raffle so two lucky members went home with them. He told us how to choose plants for the best effect and explained how the different plants behaved with different fertilisers. Mr Unwin also told us about the genetics of seed rearing and explained how it was done. Altogether a very interesting and educative meeting.

The Flower of the Month was won by Gill Rowsell, with Mary Hull second and Maureen Pomphrett third. The competition for a knitted plastic bag which will go forward to the County Show was won by Jean Smith with Adrienne Thorogood second and Hazel Asher third.
