Members and guests were welcomed to the April meeting.
The minutes of the previous month were read and signed then Elaine introduced Penny Lynn, our speaker for the evening. After completing a City & Guilds course in Textile Art and Embroidery, the project Penny chose was to make a book from textiles entitled "Stitching Wishes". Each page was embroidered with a wish for her baby granddaughter. On display were some beautiful pictures made from textiles.
Penny is a very talented and interesting lady. The competition for a piece of embroidery was won by Irene Washington. The raffle to raise funds to refurbish the Essex Room at Denman College raised £25 and was won by Shirley Lea.
