POLICE have carried out extra patrols after concerned residents raised fears about anti-social behaviour and drug paraphernalia within a public woods.
Officers from Essex Police responded by visiting the woods known as The Furze in Mundon.
They spoke with the manager of the woods and the area will be included in their patrol plans with the hopes of preventing future anti-social behaviour in the area.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We regularly receive direct contact from concerned residents at candmcpt@essex.police.uk.
“This afternoon we received an email concerning anti-social behaviour in an area known as 'The Furze' in Mundon.
“A beautiful wooded location used by dog walkers and the local community.
“Concerns were raised around drug paraphernalia and general ASB at the location.
“We promised to patrol the area and we did just that.
“Within a few hours, our PCSO's were at the location engaging with the manager of the woods and discussing options.
“This area will feature on our patrol plans to deter any future ASB.”
