SUPERMARKET staff celebrated a well-known local’s 100th birthday at the shop.
Tesco staff in Tiptree wished 100-year-old Frank from Tiptree a happy birthday.
The shop gave Frank a cake to celebrate the day due to the relationship he has built with staff after being a regular customer for the past 20 years.
The shop has been open since 2002 and Frank has been a loyal customer ever since.
Workers at the superstore in Church Road wanted to celebrate Frank's 100th birthday as they have formed a friendship with him.
Frank was surprised by the display of Happy Birthday balloons and a cake decorated specially for him.
Many residents took to social media to wish him well on the day.
Aaron Collins, the Fresh Manager at Tesco in Tiptree, said: “We wanted to celebrate Frank's birthday as reaching 100 is a massive milestone and he’s well known in the village.
“A lot of people have known Frank and he’s been a regular customer since we opened in 2002.
“I must stress, however, that we did this not for the publicity but to celebrate this big milestone of a birthday.”
