CROWDS were wowed at a fireworks show with a colourful display at a sold-out event in Maldon.

The Maldon Fireworks, hosted by the Rotary club of Maldon, were bigger and better than ever this year with a purple floodlit lake and stage as well as live performances from artists Mains Haul and Evy.

BBC Essex DJ Matt Mackay and Chelmer Radio DJ David Baker hosted the stage at the event.

The Rotary Club was supported with a large donation from broadband supplier, Swish Fibre Ltd.

The generosity has allowed the team to increase charitable donations and support even more Essex and Rotary charities.

The treasurer of the Rotary Club of Maldon, Brian Farrington, said: “What a night. It certainly was colourful and having the Swish Fibre team on hand to sell glow sticks meant we completely sold out.

“We are thrilled to have started this incredible partnership with Swish Fibre and we hope to work with them on other events in the park in 2023.

“When large businesses work with community groups like us we can create fantastic events as well as give back to our charities at a time when they need it more than ever.

“We really can’t thank Swish Fibre enough for their support and their incredible team were wonderful to work with - we hope to be back with another sell-out event in 2023.

“We are also very grateful to Events Factor for helping us create a food court with many local food outlets, Matt Mackay and BBC Essex and David Baker from Chelmer Radio who hosted our stage and finally to Star Fireworks for another incredible display.”
