A SUPER slimmer has been praised for his huge weight loss this year at a Maldon based group.
Adam Hobden has lost five stone since joining the Maldon Slimming World Group in January 2022.
He pushed himself to join after having gained weight after an accident and realising his health started to suffer.
He is now regularly taking part in exercise after finding a new lease of life.
He took part in this year’s Ride London to Essex 100-mile cycle event and raisied £570 for Dementia UK.
He said: “The first step walking through the door was the hardest.
“I wrongly thought that slimming groups were just for women, and it wasn’t until I set foot through the door that I realised I needn’t have been nervous.
“I quickly found the group to be friendly and fun. I guess it did help that our consultant Paul had also been through this journey.”
Paul said: “Adam has been awesome. He’s so supportive of the other members, regularly sharing his ideas and is a real role model and inspiration to the group.
"I’m so proud of him.
“I am so very proud of this group's losses this year. With a massive 9106lbs lost in my groups, its like 50 less people being in Maldon.”
For more information about the group, contact Paul on 07900 570262, or join a group on Wednesday mornings at the United Reformed Church hall at 9.15am, Wednesday evenings at St Peter's Hospital Chapel hall at 5.30pm and 7pm, and Saturdays at 8am and 10am at the United Reformed Church hall.
