CONCERNED residents fear under-pressure health facilities are unable to cope with the needs of patients.
A survey has been carried out by the Woodham and Dengie Infrastructure Group alongside the United Dengie Councils to assess the views of residents on infrastructure in the area.
Residents were asked if they think schools, healthcare services, roads and emergency services would be able to cope with new developments.
A total of 756 people believed that healthcare facilities cannot cope with the needs of patients as it is.
A fundraiser has now been set up to raise money for an expert opinion on the issues raised by residents.
A spokesman for the Infrastructure Group said: “The conclusions are stark. There is a high degree of dissatisfaction with the infrastructure here as things stand - and a complete lack of confidence that there will be any significant improvements to alleviate the additional strains brought about by the new housing developments.
“Decisions will soon be made which will radically affect those living and working in this area for decades to come - hence this survey.
“As a basic principle, we are convinced that public service infrastructure should be improved alongside new development so that you as Dengie residents don’t see your quality of life suffer.”
