POLICE are appealing for information following assaults where two people have been seriously injured.
Officers were initially called to Burns Close shortly after 4pm on December 22 following reports of a 15-year-old-boy sustaining serious facial injuries.
He was taken to hospital in a serious condition but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
On arrival, officers were made aware of a second victim and carried out searches in the local area.
The second victim was located shortly before 8pm and taken to hospital with serious injuries to his chest and arms.
At this stage, this is believed to be an isolated incident with those involved known to each other.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are appealing to anyone in the Maldon area, who may have witnessed anything or have any further information to contact us.
“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
“You can let us know by submitting a report on our website or by using our online live chat service available Monday to Friday excluding public holidays between 10am-9pm.
“You can also submit an anonymous report to Crimestoppers through their website or by calling 0800 555 111.
“Alternatively you can call police on 101, in an emergency always call 999.
“Please quote incident 837 of December 22 when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.”
