POLICE have responded to residents' concerns about anti-social behaviour and drug use and dealing at train stations in the district.
Essex Police has included train stations including Southminster on their patrol routes.
It comes after residents reported activity they believed to be drug-related and antisocial at some of the stations in the Maldon district.
Officers have said they will be patrolling the stations on a regular basis after hearing of the activity.
It is understood most of the issues have occurred in the evening.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We have received reports recently concerning anti-social behaviour and drug use/dealing at some of the train stations in the Maldon district during the evenings.
“These locations are now included on our patrol routes and we will be patrolling them on a regular basis.
“We have received this information as a result of the local residents letting us know by reporting this activity at www.essex.police.uk.
“We also just wanted to make sure that any commuters coming home late were safe.
“If you have an issue you would like us to deal with, then please make your report.
“Always dial 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergency matters.”
