An electrical company submitted an application for a new warehouse to be built.
Plans have been submitted for a warehouse to be constructed on Scatterbrook Farm, in Rectory Lane, Latchingdon.
The warehouse will be used for the storage or distribution of goods by the electronic company CVC Components Ltd.
The proposed warehouse will be built next to the existing three warehouses and reception building on the site.
The existing six shipping containers will be removed and replaced with the new warehouse.
The business hopes the plans will be approved to give them enough space to store expensive electronic parts.
There are currently 20 full-time employees at the business, who often work remotely, and the number of staff is not set to change once a warehouse is built.
In the application, it states: “The reason for the submission is that the business CVC Components whose company operation is the storage, distribution, repair and servicing of complex electronic componentry has no remaining capacity to store these expensive parts.
“The existing shipping containers are full of components.
“It is proposed that all these will be indexed and stored appropriately within a racking and shelving system within the new warehouse.
“There are other areas of overspill storage within the main buildings themselves, which again this new building will allow for these components to be properly indexed and stored.”
A decision is set to be made by Maldon District Council by February, 14.
