POLICE have clamped down on speeding after concerns were raised by villagers.
Residents in Cock Clarks are becoming increasingly worried about speeding through the village.
In response, Essex Police officers checked the speed on more than 60 vehicles.
Officers said they will continue to patrol the area with the aim of reducing harm or injury on the roads.
The Safer Essex Roads Partnership aims to achieve zero deaths and serious injuries on the roads of Essex by the year 2040.
Officers also spoke with residents about any concerns they may have while they patrolled Maldon Promenade Park.
A spokesman for the force said: “The team has responded to concerns raised by local residents in Cock Clarks, Maldon, regarding excess speed through the village.
“Officers spoke with local residents and conducted speed checks for a considerable amount of time and checked the speed of over 60 drivers.
“Officers will continue to patrol this area to check that drivers are complying with the speed limit as part of our commitment to Vision Zero to reduce serious harm or injury on the roads.
“The team also patrolled Maldon Prom and spoke to local residents about any concerns they may have in their area.”
