South Woodham Ferrers tattoo studio Inception Ink open

Experienced tattoo artists Luke Wintrip and Steve Lawrence have opened a tattoo studio in Chipping Row, South Woodham Ferrers.

The Inception Ink artists have more than 17 years of experience combined.

They offer a variety of tattoo styles, including dot work, line work, black and grey, lettering, ornate, floral and traditional pieces.

Steve said they want to “disrupt the stereotype that tattoo studios are scary and awkward places”.

He said: “We don’t want to be a shop where you come in and get a tattoo that you saw on Pinterest that has no personality or meaning behind it.

“From the moment you message, to 10 years down the line when you’re looking at your tattoo, we want you to remember the experience that you had with us and carry it with you.

“Unfortunately, there are studios out there where women in particular feel a bit uncomfortable – that’s largely why we decided to open our own studio.

“Many of our clients are women, so it only made sense to change this perception and create a space, environment and experience that everyone can enjoy and feel comfortable in.”

It is a dream come true for co-owner Luke to open the studio.

He said: “I finally have the opportunity to provide people with a unique experience. I’m thrilled that this dream has now become a reality.

“The tattoos I specialise in typically have a lot of meaning behind them – whether they’re to do with loss, life, overcoming struggles or something else.

“Everyone that I've worked with has their own story, their own emotions, their own reasons for wanting that piece of art, and I now have the privilege of creating even more designs with meanings that will last a lifetime.

“It really is the people for me that make this job so great and I cannot wait to get started with our new venture.”
