PLANS have been approved to allow a bakery chain to update its shopfront.
The plans look to install a new sign at the Greggs chain in a listed building on Maldon High Street.
A new fascia sign will be installed with individual 25mm white Greggs lettering.
The background of the new sign will have a vinyl gradient applied.
The existing mullion details on the shopfront will be repaired and finished to match the existing grey colour of the shop.
The plans also look to install a new projecting hanging sign with an insert panel to be replaced if required.

The sign will have a horizontal blue gradient, similar to the main shopfront sign.
It will also have white ‘Greggs’ lettering and the orange quattro dots Greggs logo.
The building is set within a number of listed buildings and it is within the Maldon Conservation Area.
Essex Highways recommended the light source should be positioned and shielded to direct light towards the proposed advertisement sign and away from the highway to ensure drivers aren’t subjected to glare and dazzle.
