A MULTI-AWARD winning drama club is preparing for its next stage performance.
Maldon Drama Group won the NODA district award for best drama for their Ladykillers performance last year and now is nominated again for the 70th-anniversary production of One Man, Two Guvnors.
The drama club is now preparing for its East End-based play, which follows the story of five very different women who meet in a safe space, and share their fears, dreams and hopes for the future.
Originally, Streaming, by Nell Dunn in London’s West End, caused quite a stir in the 1980s, and not just for its regular nudity.
Performers won't be getting naked on the stage at Maldon Town Hall after the production came up with "creative ways" to get around it.
Steaming has been described by the Times as "a lovely play, suffused with affection and shot through with extravagant and caustic wit".
The Guardian said: "The great strength of Dunn’s play is that it is like a girls' night out without the hangover."
Steaming will be performed at Maldon Town Hall from April 23 until April 25, with performances at 7.30pm.
Tickets available from £10 are available on ticketsource.co.uk/mdg.
