CHILDREN took part in a large cake sale at a school to raise money for Comic Relief.
Pupils and their families helped to raise more than £100 for charity with a bake sale at St Cedd’s Church of England Primary School in Bradwell on Sea.
The cakes were sold for 50p each.
Pictures show the youngsters enjoying the cakes on offer at the bake sale as fellow pupils ran the cake stall.
The pupils were given the task of wearing red on the day, in honour of Red Nose Day, as well as bringing cakes along to be sold at the cake sale.
All funds raised from this year's Comic Relief will go towards projects and organisations to help support people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and help tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems and food poverty in the UK and around the world.
The school was eager to get involved in organising the fundraiser and took the opportunity to teach the pupils the importance of helping others in the process.
Lyndsey Wood, headteacher at St Cedd’s Church of England Primary School said: “At St. Cedd's, we are keen to support as many worthwhile charities as we can, so when we found out Red Nose Day was focusing on supporting those in need during the current living crisis, focusing on issues like lack of food and homelessness, we couldn't wait to get involved.
“We raised funds by coming to school dressed in red and we also held a cake sale.
“The children learned the importance of helping others in need while having fun.”
