POLICE were joined by an unexpected member of the community whilst in patrol in the district.
Essex Police officers in the Marine Unit were just starting their patrol in Maldon when a curious seal approached the crew.
Pictures show the seal circling the unit as they launched their water crafts.
A spokesman for Essex Police Marine Unit said: “Fin and Daren were out on the River Crouch this week on our personal water crafts from Maldon District Council.
“As they were launching they were joined by this friendly little seal who came over to see what was happening.
“Once it had left, they headed out for some patrols around the marine community.”
