A NEW dog grooming parlour will be coming to a village after planners gave the bid the green light.
Plans to change the use of an existing gym to a dog grooming parlour in West End Road, Tiptree have been approved by Colchester Council.
A single-storey building in Hillcroft, West End Road, Tiptree will be used for the development.
The plans were supported by Tiptree Parish Council and received no public objections.
One condition of the approval is the business shall not operate outside 8am and 6pm on weekdays and 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.
Use is not permitted on Sundays or public holidays.
The reason for this, as stated by Colchester Council is: “To ensure that the development hereby permitted is not detrimental to the amenity of the area and/or nearby residents by reason of undue noise including from people entering or leaving the site, as there is insufficient information within the submitted application, and for the avoidance of doubt as to the scope of this permission.”
Another condition of the plans is sound insulation must be installed to ensure the surrounding area isn’t impacted by any noise or disturbance from the business.
Essex Highways said the plans are acceptable and recommended the applicant submit a scheme of off-road parking and turning for cars for domestic and business purposes.
