MALDON residents have been urged to come forward with information about drug dealers after a driver was arrested on suspicion of drug dealing offences.
Police officers made the arrest yesterday, March 9, after the driver allegedly failed to stop for motorcycle officers in Cold Norton.
Essex Police’s Maldon town team intervened and helped the motorcycle unit arrest the motorist.
A large amount of controlled drugs were found in a search of the vehicle.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “The Maldon town team assisted our motorcycle unit today in the area of Cold Norton.
“A vehicle failed to stop for the two motorcycle officers which was not the most sensible of ideas.
“The driver eventually stopped when they realised, they had nowhere to go.
“A search of the vehicle under the Misuse of Drugs Act revealed a significant quantity of controlled drugs.
“As a result, one individual has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply."
Essex Police also confirmed “an investigation will now take place into the circumstances”.
Anyone with information about drug dealers in the Maldon district is urged to contact Essex Police.
