HUNDREDS of incredible unique vehicles made up “one of the largest display of vehicles” a museum “has ever had”.

The Museum of Power, in Langford, hosted its annual Transport Fest on Easter Sunday, which celebrates all forms of transport.

About 1,200 members of the public visited the museum and enjoyed live music and food and drink.

More than 400 cars, vans, lorries, motorbikes, buses and bicycles were on show for spectators to admire.

Lyz Le Fay, events manager at the museum, said: “The sun shone down on us on Easter Sunday.

“We were actually blessed with the weather after having to cancel the Autojumble the weekend before when the river burst its banks.

“Transport Fest 2023 had one of the largest display of vehicles the museum has ever had.

“To top it all off, there were food vendors to cater for all palates, and stalls selling a variety of wares from car accessories and canal ware to sweets and handmade crafts.

“On the courtyard, we had an array of vintage bicycles to look at and some to try.

“The New River Dixielanders Jazz Band from London brought just the right touch to this event.

“Marshall, our ‘Lilleshall’ triple expansion engine was running on steam, along with our miniature trains.

“The Astaria model village was open and the Steam Pump Tea Room was serving hot and cold refreshments along with a variety of food."

The next field event is on Monday, May 8, which is Eastern National Heritage Bus Day, when there will be a chance to ride on a vintage bus as well as seeing an array of old and up to date buses.

The museum is also still taking bookings for a murder mystery evening on Friday, April 21.

Lyz added: “We thank everyone for their support in coming to the museum. We are a charity, so all money from events and donations go towards the running of this ambient place.

“I would also personally like to thank the events team and all volunteers on making Transport Fest 2023 a huge success.”
