RUNNERS now have the chance to register for a popular race in its 35th year.
The Tiptree 10 race hosted by Tiptree Road Runners is now open for entries from participants.
More than 204 participants have already signed up to take part, with the 2022 race attracting 369 entries.
The race starts in Messing and takes runners on a loop to Easthorpe and back through Messing, ending in New Road.
The race has multiple sponsors, including the Finish Line Fund, Colchester Physiotherapy and Wilkin and Sons Tiptree.
The Tiptree race was the first race to win the Howard Williams Trophy for times.
The organised ten mile race won the trophy for the first time in 2010, then again in 2012, 2018 and 2021.
The trophy is awarded to the best road race in the Essex AA area, voted for by running clubs based on how well the race is organised on the day.
Race director Rob Hankey said: “The Tiptree 10 is run over a predominantly flat, scenic, and rural route, with a couple of hills to keep it interesting.
“Our event will be fully marshalled by passionate members of Tiptree Road Runners, who will be there to provide vocal encouragement and support to all participants and clubs, and to ensure your safety throughout.
“This year we are excited and proud that the race is part of the Essex Road Running Championships with county medals awarded to the first three Essex affiliated runners in male and female individual age categories as well as teams.
“Prizes will also be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers, age category winners, and team prizes.
“Tiptree Road Runners are very proud to donate to local and national charities from the profits of the event.
“We are grateful to all of our sponsors, without whom the event could not take place. For sponsorship opportunities and donations, please contact the Tiptree 10 Race Director.”
The event is returning on Sunday, October 8, entries cost £18 for affiliated members and £20 for unaffiliated.
