FAMILIES and friends enjoyed a day out for a unique craft fair celebrating the work of local artists, creators and producers.
Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome hosted its first ever craft fayre at its site in Purleigh on Saturday.
The East Anglian Craft Fayre featured more than 20 traders who displayed and promoted their small businesses to crowds at the event.
Visitors had the option to visit just the fair or for a full museum entry to view the rare and unique objects on display.
There were stalls from creative potters, photographers, artists, designers and more.
Local micro-brewery Datum Attitude, brewed in Tolleshunt D’Arcy was on hand with fresh beers for visitors.
The Airmen’s Mess Café was open all day for food and drinks for the hungry shoppers.
Despite the nerves of running the event for the first time, it was a successful day for all involved.
Ian Flint, chief executive officer of Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome said:
“Trying out a new event is always a bit nerve-wracking for us, especially when faced with the uncertain weather.
“However, we really got a stroke of luck this time. The sun was out and the sky was blue by opening time and all the Traders were brilliant.
“The atmosphere was fantastic – really friendly, welcoming and buzzing.
“The stalls did well, and we had lots of new supporters to welcome. With this success under our belt, we are looking forward to our 2023 events with lots of excitement.”

The site is open to the public from 10am to 4pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
