Essex Police Maldon arrest in Wickham Bishops

On Wednesday evening, a police officer was on patrol in Wickham Bishops when they located a vehicle of interest.

Once joined by a colleague from the Chelmsford Local Policing team, the offers searched the vehicle and arrested an individual on suspicion of 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 Class A 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆.

Police said they will be seeking a charge if the evidence allows.

A spokesman for Essex Police in the Maldon district said: “I'll give you one guess what t𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 have been involved with again this evening.

"You guessed it - locating suspected drug dealers.

“One of the team members got behind a vehicle of interest in the Wickham Bishops area of the district.

“Our colleagues from the 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 deployed from Chelmsford to assist the t𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 officer who was alone.

“The grounds to search the vehicle were quickly established and one individual was arrested on suspicion of 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 (Class A).

“This individual will now be processed and if our evidence allows, we will be seeking a charge and remand into custody.

“The message to those who think they can deal drugs in the Maldon district continues to be a simple one.

“We will look for you, we will find you and we will arrest you. We will then do everything we can to secure charges and remand you to prison."
