A HISTORIC airfield was packed with crowds soaking up the sunshine at a major event.
Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome in Hackmans Lane, Purleigh, held its signature Wings and Wheels event on Sunday.
Classic cars lined up at the site and vintage aircraft took to the skies.
Hundreds of visitors enjoyed the day out at the heritage site.
Aston Martins, Morgans and Morris Minors took their place alongside Corvetes and American hot rods, while vintage Tiger Moths and Auster aircraft wowed the crowds.
The skies above echoed with the sound of Yaks, Stampes and Great War fighter aircraft.
Local brewery Datum Attitude provided refreshments along with the Airmen’s Mess Café.
There was also a barbecue which proved to be hugely popular with visitors.
The event is a major fundraiser and helps keep the aerodrome running.
Stow Maries CEO Ian Flint said: “This event takes a lot of hard work from our staff and volunteers, but it all pays off. What a fantastic day.
“The cars look great, the aircraft are stunning and the museum is looking her best.
“Our success is measured by the smiles on our visitors and, looking around, I think we can call this event a win.”
