TWO playful Jack Russells who got stuck underneath a shed while playing in the garden have been rescued by the fire service.
After Alfie and Belle found themselves unable to get out from underneath the shed on Friday evening, firefighters from Maldon fire staton used air bags to lift the shed so the dogs could be reunited with their worried owners.
Station manager Lee Hurst said: “Both dogs were unharmed and happy to have some cuddles with their rescuers afterwards.
“We know dogs love to sunbathe and explore the garden at this time of year.
“We also know that when they follow their noses, and sometimes it can lead them into places they can’t get back from.
“Our advice would be not to put yourself in harm’s way to attempt to rescue them. Instead, call the RSPCA who will call us for assistance if needed.”
