POLICE have issued a dispersal order for the whole of Maldon following concerns of anti-social behaviour.
The order will be put in place in Maldon and parts of Chelmsford to address concerns.
The order gives officers the power to disperse people who they suspect may cause issues later on, even if not at the time the police encounter them.
It does not prevent residents or visitors from being in the area, but allows officers to move on anyone behaving anti-socially to keep members of the public safe.
The area, pictured, encompasses most of the Maldon and Danbury parishes and the main river network for the River Chelmer from Chelmsford to Maldon.
It will remain in place from 8am on Friday, August 25 until Sunday, August 27.
Acting Insp Graham Thomas said: “We want to prevent any disruption or disorder within the area specified, as we continue our work to keep people in Maldon safe.
“Anti-social behaviour is not low-level offending, and we are all too aware of the impact this offence will have on businesses and residents during the summer months.”
