A WOMAN who was seriously injured in a collision near Cold Norton has now died, police have confirmed.

A woman, aged in her 60s, died following a crash involving a black Ford Fiesta and a white Vauxhall Vivaro van in Lower Burnham Road shortly before 11am on Friday, August 18.

The crash is being investigated by police officers from the specialist serious collision investigation unit.

The woman, who was the driver of the Ford Fiesta, sustained multiple injuries and was taken to Kings College Hospital by air ambulance.

A passenger in the Fiesta, a man in his 60s, was treated in hospital and is now said to be recovering at home, supported by his family.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his 30s, was also injured but not seriously.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “A woman who was seriously injured following a collision near Cold Norton last week has, sadly, now died.

“The driver of the Fiesta, a woman in her 60s, sustained multiple injuries and was taken to hospital in a critical condition.”

Anyone with any information or CCTV, dash cam or other footage is being asked to contact the police to assist them in their investigation.
