MALDON MP Sir John Whittingdale and local historian Stephen Nunn have been made joint patrons of the Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association.
The heritage preservation charity is one of the fastest growing military vehicle associations in the UK, with more than 250 members from all over the country and Europe.
After working with the group for the past six years, Sir John has agreed to become patron, along with former town mayor Stephen Nunn.
Association chairman Colin Tebb said: “Everyone at the Essex HMVA is honoured that both Sir John Whittingdale and Stephen Nunn have agreed to be joint patrons of the Essex HMVA and look forward to their continued support and patronage.”
The Essex HMVA's aim is to promote an understanding of military preservation and history.
