TWO men have been charged after being arrested on suspicion of being in possession of class A drugs.
The suspects were arrested on Sunday evening on suspicion of being in possession with intent to supply in the Steeple area.
Maldon town team police said: “The vehicle they were stopped in had no insurance so we have taken that off the road as well.”
Officers said they would do their best to gather evidence and on Monday evening it was confirmed the men had been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Maldon town team have presented the evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service who have authorised charges for possession with intent to supply cocaine.
“Both individuals have also been remanded and they will be presented to the magistrates' court.”
