A NEW £1million bar in Maldon High Street this weekend, bosses have confirmed.
Salero Lounge is set to open on Saturday, November 25.
Loungers has transformed the former Post Office and heavily patterned wallpapers, tiling and stripped wooden floors now feature alongside oversized vintage sofas, upholstered lounge chairs and eclectic artwork.
The team at the lounge will donate 50p from every burger and 20p from each coffee sold in the first month of trading to charity, as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.
Salero Lounge caters for many occasions, whether it be coffee with friends, a long lazy brunch with family or a relaxed dinner and drinks.
The all-day menu will feature everything from tapas and salads to burgers and buttermilk fried chicken, with vegans and those favouring a gluten-free diet well catered for with their very own menus.
Families are well catered for with the selection of games, books, colouring pencils and craft tables available to keep children amused.
A full menu, high chairs and baby-changing facilities are also available for Little Loungers.
Gemma Irwin, Community Manager at Loungers, says: “We are delighted to finally be opening Salero Lounge in Maldon and hope our family friendly environment and top-notch food and drink offering will prove popular with local residents.
"We’re passionate about integrating genuinely into the local community so we’re looking forward to meeting everyone and to playing our part.
She continues: “Our teams always go the extra mile to make a difference and they are actively encouraged to connect with their communities by working with local groups, charities, organisations and businesses that are at the heart of the fabric of local life.
"Anyone looking for a space to host events or community groups should pop in. We’d love to hear from them and see what we can do to help.”
This new establishment has also created 30 new jobs.
The bar had been due to open last month but this was delayed.
At the time Loungers said council planners did not feel they had enough time to consider all the information submitted with the application.
Bosses decided the best course of action was to withdraw and resubmit the application.
