AN exciting new drama society is set for a weekend of performances of a classic fairytale with a twist.
The Maldon and District Dramatics Society is performing Sleeping Beauty the Pantomime at Goldhanger Village Hall this weekend.
It is the society's first-ever pantomime and second production since its launch in October 2022.
Tonight's show is sold out but tickets are still available for Saturday’s showing at 2.30pm, and 7.30pm and Sunday's show at 2.30pm.
A spokesman for the Maldon and District Dramatics Society said: “Join us over this weekend for a fun-filled and family-friendly pantomime right near you.
“We have fun and laughs, as well as great well-known music and smooth choreography to fill your weekend right before Christmas. Don't spend a fortune getting out for some family entertainment, come and see us.
“Meet our Dames, our Heralds, our Princess and Prince - oh and not to forget the Three Good Fairies.
“They are all on the lookout for solutions to the Evil Fairy Nightshade's Curse on sweet Aurora. With the help of the friends and family members of the Kingdom, can the Prince save the day?
“Come and see for yourselves."
The show is directed by Emma Loring, assisted by Libby Johnson, and supported by a wide cast and crew.
Tickets available at www.MADDS.co.uk/tix.
