A DELI will be closing the doors of its Maldon High Street shop just six months after opening.
Hoskyn's Deli opened at 179 High Street in July 2023, after years of success at farmers' markets.
A spokesman for the business said the decision came after "much consideration".
A spokesman wrote on social media: "To all of our lovely customers, it is with great sadness and after much consideration that we are closing our current location in the High Street, Maldon."
They added: "We thank everyone for their kind support, it has been and continues to be really appreciated."
While the High Street premises will be closing, this does not mean Hoskyn's Deli is gone entirely.
They will still be trading at the weekly Maldon market every Thursday from 9am to 1pm, as well as other regular markets in the county.
When the family opened their High Street shop, they told the Standard about the inspiration behind the business' name.
Harry Leach said: “We decided to go with the name Hoskyn’s because my grandad's second name is Hoskyn but he had three daughters, so the name ends with him.
“So we chose to call the business Hoskyn’s so the name will continue."
Although the family business was established in 2019, it has a history going all the way back to the early 1900s.
