A COLLISION on Summerhill Burnham Road saw two people injured.

The incident is said to have taken place near to the recreation ground.

An Essex Police spokesman said the collision involved a car and quad bike and their investigation is ongoing.

They added: “Officers attended a collision involving a car and a quad bike, in Summerhill Burnham Road, Althorne, at around 2.45pm on Wednesday January 24.

“Two casualties suffered injuries which are not life-threatening.

“Our investigation into this collision is ongoing.

A spokesman from East of England Ambulance Service said: "One ambulance was sent to Burnham Road, Althorne this afternoon following reports of a quad bike rider injured in a road traffic collision.

"One patient was transported to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and care."
