PLANS to construct a three bedroom detached house to replace a previously demolished “hazardous” property have been submitted to Maldon District Council.
The proposed site is in Wycke Lane, Tollesbury, Maldon and is described in an application form as a “vacant residential plot”.
The application says the new property will replace a previously “demolished, dilapidated, and hazardous dwelling”.
It says: “The applicants bought the property with the view to demolish the hazardous building and construct a modern dwelling that will be in keeping with and improve the street scene.”
The proposal is situated within a similar footprint to the old property along the west boundary.
The garage would be set back from the road to provide a driveway between the proposed build and a neighbouring property.
After being prefabricated and pre-assembled, the house would go up within two to three weeks.
The “more sustainable” approach to construction aims to reduce the construction time on site and be a “more efficient and environmentally-friendly building process”.
