PLANS have been submitted to Maldon District Council for the change of use of a tea room to a retirement home.
The site is listed as Sailing Club Clubhouse in Burnham-on-Crouch.
Previous applications seeking to change the property into a house, as well as subsequent appeals, have been unsuccessful.
The plans say there would be no parking for vehicles, and access to the property would be by public right of way.
Essex Highways have been consulted on the proposals.
No external changes to the building are proposed.
The application describes the proposed site as “a highly sustainable location where retirees can safely and easily access by foot a range of public amenities as well as public transport”.
It also outlines the applicant’s willingness to include a condition to restrict occupancy to people aged over 60.
Maldon District Council will rule on the plans at a later date.
