RESTRICTIONS aiming to improve road safety could be placed on a road in the Maldon district if plans are accepted.
A traffic regulation order proposes implementing ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions on Marsh Road in Burnham-on-Crouch, as well as its junctions with Glendale Road, Thompson Avenue and The Leas.
The plans are currently under consultation.
The junctions are close to a primary school.
Glebe Way and The Leas are cul-de-sacs with “T” junctions on the south side of Marsh Road.
There is a zebra crossing providing pedestrian access to the west side of Church Road and Ormiston Rivers Academy to the south of the Marsh Road/Church Road junction.
The changes have been put forward in a bid to “improve the environment” for vulnerable road users.
They are designed to prevent school run traffic parking too close to the junctions, which could cause visibility issues.
A spokesman said: “This restriction will increase the road safety for all users, improve the local environment for vulnerable road users, and improve visibility and manoeuvrability.”
