Step Start Nurseries in Heybridge received an overall 'good' rating following a recent inspection.
The nursery was praised for its friendly environment and personalised care for each child after the inspection which took place in January.
Inspectors found: "Children are really keen and active little learners.
"They enter the nursery excited about their day ahead.
"Babies stretch their arms out to be held by their key persons, showing that they feel safe, secure and settled."
Staff were commended for creating a welcoming and stimulating environment that sparks children's interests.
The nursery management team was hailed for their efficient leadership.
They were described as "highly effective" in supporting staff through necessary training and fostering a supportive team.
Staff reportedly enjoy their job and feel appreciated, and parents speak "very highly" of the manager and staff.
Children with special educational needs or disabilities were reported to make good progress.
The use of additional funding also had a positive impact on children's progress and development.
However, the report identified an area for improvement, suggesting the extension of children's understanding of local and wider communities.
