A NEW veterinary surgery has now opened in a village in the Maldon district.

The Standard previously reported Edgewood Veterinary Group would be opening a branch in Althorne.

The branch opened on Monday, March 4.

The practice offers routine consultations and health checks, as well as surgical procedures, x-rays and dental treatment.

To mark the opening, the branch is offering 15 per cent off primary consultations throughout March.

This cannot be used with any other discounts.

A spokesman said: “For our clients who are unable to get to our new branch we will continue, for now, to open the Burnham surgery three afternoons a week for vet consultations.
