A PRE school in Latchingdon received a 'good' rating following a visit by Ofsted inspectors.
The assessment of Latchingdon Sessional Pre-School, located on The Street, took place on February 7.
The inspection covered categories including overall effectiveness, the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
All the categories were rated 'good' following the inspection.
The pre-school was rated 'good' at its previous inspection in February 2018.
At the time of the latest inspection, there were 27 children on the roll, aged two to four.
The report said: “All parents spoken to during the inspection speak very highly of the staff and manager.
“They state that their children are well cared for and talk about how the staff go over and above their duties to help the whole family.
“Parents of children who left the pre-school to go to school, write positive, thankful comments to the staff about their child's time with them.”
The report outlines how staff make use of the environment to enhance pupils’ knowledge, arrange the curriculum around a theme, and guide children to use numbers and letters in their everyday play.
The report said: “The manager has arrangements in place for the supervision and coaching of her staff.
“The staff team also meets informally every day to discuss planning, individual children's needs and anything else that is required.
“However, the leadership team has not sought further ways to help all staff develop a deep knowledge of teaching and learning."
The inspector also highlighted areas for improvement.
They suggested strengthening the programme of professional development to support staff.
Pre-school manager Nikki Wiseman said: "The inspection was very positive and the inspector was very complimentary about how the staff are good role models and how we encourage children to celebrate each other's achievements.
"We are very pleased with the outcome as it shows that we are consistent in our care towards the children and how we have positive outcomes."
She said this is how the pre-school has been for many years and will continue to be.
