AN investigation has been launched after firefighters rushed to a derelict house which caught alight.
Firefighters from Burnham and Tillingham fire stations were called to Burnham Road, Southminster, just before 6.20pm on Sunday evening.
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival, crews from Burnham and Tillingham reported that a derelict house was on fire.
“Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and remained on scene until the early hours of the morning to use a drone and an aerial ladder platform to check for hotspots.
“The cause of the fire will be investigated today (Monday).”
