THE town mayor of Maldon was on hand to cut the ribbon to mark the reopening of a museum celebrating the town's history.
Having been first established in 1922, Maldon Museum in the Park exhibits items relating to the town of Maldon and the district.
On Friday, March 29, Maldon mayor Andrew Lay was in attendance to cut the ribbon for the museum’s reopening.
A wide range of areas covering Maldon’s history feature in the museum, including the industrial companies of Bentall's and Sadd's, Maldon East railway station, the Blackwater barges, Maldon's soldiers during the World Wars, and the area in Victorian and Edwardian times.
History buffs can visit Maldon Museum in the Park from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and on bank holiday Mondays.
The temporary exhibition for spring is 'Last Orders - Lost Pubs of the Maldon District', which focuses on the bygone inns, alehouses, taverns and public houses of the district.
'Last Orders' opens on April 14 and runs until June 30.
