A TEAM of 11 men joined forces in a project commissioned by the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership.
The men were involved in the large-scale production of a multi-section wooden train, measuring five metres in length and standing one metre high.
The men are part of the Southminster Men’s Shed, based at Southminster train station.
It is part of a larger organisation working to improve men’s health and wellbeing, with more than 900 Men’s Sheds open nationally.
A spokesman from Maldon and District CVS, who host the shed, said they are “very proud” of the group effort and the team members for their workmanship and teamwork.
Now the train has been constructed, the aim is to have it homed at Chappel and Wakes Colne train station, near Colchester.
A spokesman from the Essex Shed Network said: “We would like to extend a big thank you to Jayne Sumner at Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership for her continued support of this shed and for their intentional decision in requesting Southminster Shed's involvement in this commission.”
