Emergency services denied rumours of an assault after a medical incident sparked an emergency operation.
Police officers and paramedics were called to an emergency in Heybridge this evening, following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman.
A helicopter brought a woman to hospital after an initial check-up.
A spokesman of Essex Police said: “Alongside colleagues with the ambulance service, we attended the scene of a medical emergency in Colchester Road, Heybridge.
“We responded after receiving a call reporting concerns for the welfare of a woman shortly before 6.25pm today, Monday, April 8.”
According to the emergency service, the woman received immediate treatment and was rushed to hospital.
Rumours of an alleged assault were also shut down by officials.
“We are aware of some social media commentary circulating stating that this policing presence relates to an assault," said the police spokesman.
“This is not the case, and this incident does not relate to any criminal offence."
“We would thank the public for their patience and understanding while this incident was dealt with.”
