A woman was left in hospital following a collision with a car in South Woodham Ferrers.
Officers were called to Marsh Farm Road shortly after 12.45pm on Sunday following reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car.
According to Essex Police, a woman in her 70s, who was using crutches at the time, was walking along the road when the collision happened.
She suffered injuries to her arm and leg and required hospital treatment.
The car involved in the incident failed to stop at the scene and police enquiries are ongoing in a bid to identify the driver.
